Kate and Wills’ Halloween ghost tours

[ 0 ] 04/10/2011 |

October 31 sees most of the world (and northern hemisphere pagans) celebrating Halloween — and this year, even Wills and Kate are getting in on the action. Well, their palace is, at least.Ā Kensington Palace is where William lived with his mother, the late Princess Diana, along with an assortment of other royals over the centuries, some of whom are said to haunt the 400-plus-year-old building. Stories collected in the warders’ log book over the years include numerous reports of screams, bumps and ghostly sightings of Peter the Wild Boy, an unknown figure sometimes spotted standing by a window, and Queen Mary, the consort of George V and William’s great-great grandmother.

“For years now there have been rumors about Kensington Palace being haunted. In the evenings, the place has an atmosphere all of its own,” a palace source told the Daily Mirror. “There are bumps in the night and that kind of thing. It’s fascinating stuff and not for the faint-hearted.” The Eerie Evening Tours of the Enchanted Palace will last an hour and half each evening and cost about $33 per person from October 28-31.
